assistance that promotes inclusion, empowerment, and community engagement.
Asian Limited English-Speaking Senior Health and Wellness
This program supports 215 Asian seniors and provides vital health and wellness support to Asian
seniors with limited English proficiency. It helps them access healthcare services, mental health
resources, and essential community programs to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
Youth Enrichment
Project
Serving up to 30 early teens at DeJean and Helm Middle Schools in the West Contra Costa Unified
School District, this program provides after-school activities such as tutoring, arts and culture, social
clubs, and outdoor sports. Additionally, we engage parents, encouraging their involvement in their
children’s education and offering training to enhance parenting skills. This project is funded by the
Richmond Children and Youth Fund.
West Contra Costa Asian Environmental Justice
In collaboration with the Hazardous Materials Division of the Contra Costa County Health
Department, this initiative recruits and trains 15 Asian Community Health Advocates. These
advocates learn about environmental issues affecting West County residents, helping to promote
health and wellness in their communities.
Teen Dating Violence Prevention
In partnership with the Contra Costa County Family Justice Center, this program supports 40 Asian
families with teenagers by addressing teen dating violence. Using the CDC-developed Parents
Matter curriculum, we provide parent training to foster awareness and prevention strategies. This
project is funded by the Office of the Governor of California.
Southeast Asian Community Behavioral Health
Designed to address the unique mental health challenges faced by Southeast Asian communities,
this program offers culturally sensitive behavioral health services. It provides counseling, education,
and support to individuals and families to enhance emotional well-being and resilience.
Breaking Barriers
Program Project
Program Project
The Breaking Barriers Program aims to eliminate obstacles that prevent Asian Pacific communities
from accessing critical social and health services. Through advocacy, education, and direct support, it
empowers individuals to overcome challenges and achieve self-sufficiency.
