The Overseas Project is an initiative of ABLE Community Development Foundation focused on rural development and community empowerment in some of the most remote regions of Northern Laos. This project works closely with Lao tribal populations living far from city centres, where access to economic opportunities and basic resources is limited.
Our goal is to support self-reliance, food security, and sustainable income for rural families while respecting local culture and traditional ways of life.
Where We Work
We partner directly with Lao tribal communities in the countryside of Northern Laos, in villages located deep in rural and hard-to-reach areas. These communities often rely on subsistence living and face challenges such as limited infrastructure, scarce employment opportunities, and restricted access to markets.
By working alongside local villagers, we focus on practical solutions that support long-term stability rather than short-term aid.
What We Do
The Overseas Project supports community-led farming initiatives that help families build sustainable livelihoods:
Wild Hog Farming
- Assisting villagers in raising wild hogs as a reliable source of income and food.
Chicken Farming
- Supporting small-scale poultry farming to improve household nutrition and generate earnings.
Fish Farming
- Helping establish fish farms that provide protein, food security, and local trade opportunities.
Cocoa Producer Cooperative
- Supporting local farmers in Laos for cocoa cultivation to improve productivity and steady growth.
These projects are designed to be manageable, culturally appropriate, and suited to rural environments.
